Videolaryngoscopy and the opportunity to diagnose coexisting disease

A recent paper published in BMJ Journals highlights the opportunity for physicians to identify and diagnose coexisting conditions when using videolaryngoscopy. The case was reported on by Dr Alison Price and Dr Sarah Lawson from thr PICU in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and reviewed by Dr Christopher Flannigan following intubation of the patient and observing the video footage recorded on the Vimed VL. The team were able to see bilateral vocal cord lesions (see image) on the video which was then shown to an ENT surgeon and diagnosed as vocal cord granulomas.
